Raising Money for Breast Cancer

Barb Thomas, a breast cancer survivor, originally designed the Pink Ribbon Jersey for herself. She and her husband Dave, members of the Gainesville (FL) Cycling Club, actively help raise breast cancer awareness and support research dedicated to finding a cure. When Barb discovered that there wasn’t already a pink ribbon cycling jersey she decided to take matters into her own hands.

The jersey is design-copyrighted and has been sold all over the world, raising over $11,000 to fund breast cancer research from 969 jerseys sold, and 145 pairs of gloves. All proceeds from sales of the jersey support ongoing research on treatment-resistant breast cancers (such as triple negative) at the University of Florida Health Cancer Center. These cancers account for a disproportionate number of breast cancer related deaths. For more information about triple negative breast cancer visit www.tnbcfoundation.orgVisit the Pink Pumpkin Pedal-Off website to learn about a fundraising bicycle event which also supports this breast cancer research at the University of Florida.

The Pink Ribbon Jersey is a high quality Louis Garneau performance garment. Suitable for cycling, running, or walking, the jersey is SPF50 and UVP rated for outdoor actvities. Available in short sleeved or sleeveless zippered versions, the Pink Ribbon Jersey is the perfect way to "Go PINK for the Cure"! Matching cycling gloves are also available. Now available - a pink ribbon runner's singlet in women's sizes for $45. See photos on the order page.
